

Marketa D. Evans
President and CEO of Colleges Ontario
Marketa Evans began her term as President and CEO of Colleges Ontario in May 2023. Colleges Ontario is the voice of Ontario’s 24 public colleges.
Marketa was most recently Vice President, Government & Stakeholder Partnerships at Colleges and Institutes Canada, the national member association representing over 140 public colleges, institutes, cegeps and polytechnics. Marketa led federal government relations, advocacy and an extensive portfolio of Government of Canada funded programs, bringing our members together to develop and implement new solutions for complex labour market challenges.
Marketa was previously the Vice President, Community Programs and Vice President, Innovation at WoodGreen Community Services, Toronto’s largest community services agency. She established WoodGreen’s Innovation Lab and led a new integrated service delivery model with a focus on labour market outcomes for people facing barriers. A former corporate banker with CIBC, Marketa was the first Executive Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto. She has held senior leadership roles in the public and private sectors, including as Special Advisor on Corporate Social Responsibility to the Minister of International Trade, and with Plan International Canada, and United Way Toronto.
Marketa holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Toronto. She loves running, camping, hiking and travel and holds an open water Scuba diving certificate.
