Assistant professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, and co-founder of Phycus Biotechnologies
Christian is an assistant professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, and co-founder of Phycus Biotechnologies. He is excited about powering large-scale valorization of waste, such as CO2 and plastic, using engineered microbial systems. With Phycus, he has played a significant role in bringing the world's first bio-based glycolic acid to market, including supporting expanding biomanufacturing capacity here in Canada. His academic work is focused on using waste streams directly through novel biological and novel process-level approaches.
